Girls Cross Country

On Saturday 26th January 2008 8 girls went to Aldersley Stadium. There were 2 teams the A team and the B team. The A team were:
Melissa Keyworth, Louise Murphy, Derrion Thompson &
Sophie Thorpe.
The B team were: Jessica Hubble, Nicola Ahir, Abigail Owen & Katie Healey.

The final scores were the A team came 4th and the B team came 7th out of 30 different teams. It was a relay race and the 1 lap was a mile so in 1 race 4 miles would have been ran because we had to run a mile each. Everyone was very excited to run and everybody was pleased with their positions.

We would like to thank Mr Gentle, Mrs Lunn and Audrey for training us and teachers and parents for providing transport. We would also like to thank Mr Gentle and Miss Stephens for bringing us a chocolate and sweet each.

Well done Melissa and James on your reports.
Learning about safety with our ever growing technology is of great importance.
Praise ourselves and each other is a very valuable tool in our learning journeys giving us all support and encouragement to do our very best.

The Jennie Lee Centre conference

(James)
On Thursday17th January Me, Melissa and Miss Stephens all went to the Jennie Lee Centre for a conference about Mobile and Internet safety. We learnt a lot about how to be safe while on technology. We also learnt about other technology like praise pods. We split up and went different ways I went to Internet safety which was about being safe on MSN and other messengers as well as on mobile phones.

(Melissa)
I went to the praise pod workshop with Miss Stephens this was all about a webcam on a laptop where you can praise other people or your self and you can have it sent to your Mom or Dad on their mobile phones or by e-mail. So imagine your Mom or Dad sitting in a boring workplace and then receiving an e-mail that is actually a recorded video of you or someone else praising you. Would ‘ant it be good. The food was lovely as well it was so good Miss Stephens would not stop talking about it. We would like to thank Miss Stevens for transport and the Jennie Lee Centre for organising it.
